Shankar, the doctor who Heads Maamallan Siddha Maruthuva Nilayam belongs to one such family. He hails from a family who are practicing Siddha Medicines through the past five generations.

     He learned the system of medicine from his father and grandfather paying great attention With unflinching utmost sincerity since childhood with total involvement and clinic as far back as 28 years and has been offering best treatment for all kinds of ailments, especially the bone fracture.

     Dr. M. Shankar obtained post graduation and got Ph.D., in Siddha Medicine and in the field of Bone Fracture. He studied in Tanjore Tamil University and got his Degree in Siddha. Apart from that, he also learned Siddha system to treat the patients at “Siddha Gurukulam” and got qualified in using Siddha system in treating the deceases.

     He has been writing articles for weeklies and dailies. He is also conducting many TV programs on Siddha medicines. Shankar is running a magazine called “Maamallan Maruthuva malar” (Maamallan Medical Journal). He has been offering articles also to popular web sites like “Tamilsigaram.com, webDhunia.com” etc. He has been conducting number of seminars and medical camps to promote Siddha System. He has been offering Siddha Medical Service to more than five Hundred Siddha Medical Associations.

     In addition siddha medicines, he has also learned verma art, Herbal treatment, Acupuncture, Yoga, Magnetic Therapy and a few more alternative therapies. Thousands of patients have taken treatment from him and have benefited from all over the countries. He is also family doctor to many VIPs in different walks of life.
